Shipcloud supports return journeys that start in your sytem or in our return portal. Based on the setup, the Ship step is used in different ways:

API

The ship step is triggered by the API call from your system.

The return label will be provided in the API response.

App

The ship step is triggered when your customer initiates and completes the return in the return portal.

The return label will be provided in the return portal and sent via email.

In your Shipcloud account, you can define ship rules for each return policy.

Logistics rules

Logistics settings define the physical setup of your reverse supply chain. The setup includes:

  • Origin locations (regions) from where customers ship to you

  • Destination locations (locations) to where returns are shipped

  • Return options (carriers) to ship returns

  • From-to routing (routes) per country, and return policy

Carrier services

Carrier services can be used to ship returns from an origin location to a destination location. Carrier services are supported in 2 ways:

You can set up a virtual carrier when you want your customer to organize and pay for the shipping. Shipcloud will create a barcoded address label for your customer.
