Incoterms and simplified customs declaration (CN22/CN23)

Updated over a year ago

Shipcloud supports you in shipping your Asendia packages worldwide from Germany via your own Asendia contract, which you can already integrate into Shipcloud from our Professional subscription.

In this article you will learn what you need to consider for your international and dutiable Asendia shipping.

In this article 👇

Transfer of incoterms for international shipping

For your international shipping, with Shipcloud you can transfer incoterms to Asendia via API request. These are a set of voluntary clauses for the interpretation of customary contractual formulas that are interpreted uniformly internationally and are applied worldwide. You can transfer the following incoterms to Asendia with Shipcloud:

DAP

Delivered free, duty unpaid, untaxed

Free domicile, duty unpaid, untaxed - the sender pays only the freight, all other costs are borne by the recipient.

DDP
Delivered free, duty paid, taxed

Free domicile, duty paid, taxed - the sender pays all costs incurred, the recipient bears no costs.

Simplified customs declaration for dutiable shipping

For your shipments subject to customs duties, you need to submit customs data to Asendia. With Shipcloud, you can create a customs declaration (CN22/CN23) together with the shipping label via Shipcloud webUI or API request. Tips for creating a customs declaration with shipcloud can be found here.

After creating the shipment and the customs declaration, your Asendia shipping label with integrated customs declaration CN22 (Harmonized Label) is available for download as a PDF in DIN A6 format. The customs declaration CN23, on the other hand, is always created separately and in DIN A4 format.

📌 If you are sending multiple packages to the same recipient in a country subject to customs duties, make sure that each individual package is accompanied by customs documents. When shipping to a non-EU country, also remember the other customs documents that may be required, such as proforma or commercial invoice.
