Check access data for DHL
For your DHL configuration you need the following data:
Your 14-digit billing numbers for DHL Paket and/or DHL Paket International
Your access data for the DHL Business Customer Portal
Your access data for DHL Track & Trace
π Please note that you may have several DHL billing numbers. These are different for DHL Paket and DHL Paket International, for example. If you don't want to use any other DHL services resp. shipping methods, it is only necessary to enter the above-mentioned data in your DHL configuration.
Good to know: You can find your billing numbers, among other things, in the DHL Business Customer Portal under "Contract data" >> "Contract items" or in your DHL contract documents.
Store access data for DHL in the Shipcloud account
You can easily store your DHL contract data in your Shipcloud account and thus ship at your individually agreed rates and conditions with the carrier.
Based on the time of your registration at Shipcloud, we provide you below with further information on how to store your DHL access data in the Shipcloud webUI.
Registration from August 2, 2022
How to store your contract data for DHL
Log in to your Shipcloud account resp. to the Shipcloud WebUI and select the menu item "Carriers" in the navigation bar on the left.
Under "Active carriers", click on the blue contract icon on the left next to DHL to store the access data from your DHL account in your Shipcloud configuration and, if necessary, to make further settings.
Click on the green "Save & activate" button on the right so that your changes are applied and your own business rates are applied when you are creating your shipping labels.
π Please note that previously saved data will be overwritten and you will ship using your own business rates after successful activation. The Shipcloud shipping business rates for DHL will then no longer be available to you.
Registration before August 2, 2022
How to store your contract data for DHL
If you have registered with Shipcloud before August 2, 2022, please contact our support team first and we will activate your own configuration for DHL.
After activation, you will receive a confirmation email from us and you will then find your configuration in your Shipcloud account under "Configurations" >> "Carriers" >> "DHL". Deposit and save your access data for DHL there.
π Please note that once you have activated your own DHL configuration, you no longer have access to the Shipcloud business rates for DHL.
More information about DHL access data and billing numbers
You do not have to fill in all billing numbers and fields to use DHL. Depending on which products and services your DHL contract has been activated for, you can only enter the data that is relevant to you.
DHL username and password
Enter your access data for your DHL Business Customer Portal here.
π We would recommend to create a new system user for Shipcloud in the DHL Business Customer Portal. Please note that the user name can only use lower cases and canβt be longer than 20 characters. You can change your user name in your DHL Business Customer Portal under the menu item "Manage users". |
DHL Track & Trace username and password
Enter your zt-ID and your password for the DHL Track & Trace web service here. The zt-ID always starts with "zt" followed by 6 digits, e.g. zt123456.
π If you do not yet have access data for DHL Track & Trace, you can request access from your DHL account manager. Please make sure to explicitly refer to the activation for DASS (Direktaufrufschnittstelle (direct access interface)). Otherwise, you can log in to Track & Trace, but you won't have the necessary authorizations to receive status updates. |

DHL shipping with your own contract in connection with Shipcloud
Shipping conditions and billing
After successful configuration, you automatically ship at your own DHL business rates. Your individual agreements will then apply with regard to, among other things:
your transport insurance,
the (regular) pick-up/drop-off at DHL Paketshops and postal outlets
the worldwide/international shipping, also outside the EU.
π Please note that you will then no longer have access to the Shipcloud business rates for DHL and Shipcloud will then no longer be able to show you any prices for DHL, as our system does not have access to this part of your contract. You can view your shipping conditions in your DHL account or request them from your DHL account manager.
You will be billed directly by DHL for your shipping labels. You will only receive a monthly invoice from Shipcloud for the use of our service (basic and transaction fees) and for the shipping labels created at Shipcloud business rates with other carriers.
Available shipping methods and additional services
For your DHL shipping with your own contract, the following shipping methods and additional services are available. These apply to shipping from Germany.

You can easily generate DHL return labels for international shipments yourself via plugin/API or Shipcloud webUI and add them as enclosures to your shipments. In addition, you can grant your customers access to our Return Portal, where they can request and print return labels on their own. Returns generated via the Shipcloud Return Portal can only be used within Germany.

Important information about shipping to Finland and Sweden
Please note that from January 1st, 2023, when shipping to Finland and Sweden, you will be required to select a delivery option and DHL will subsequently invoice you a surcharge for door-to-door delivery. Provided that you want a cheaper delivery to a droppoint (parcelsshops, parcellockera or similar drop-off options), the additional service "Closest Drop Off Point Delivery" must be transferred.
Good to know: For smooth shipping and to avoid additional costs, we will automatically book the delivery option "Closest Drop Off Point Delivery" for you when shipping to Finland and Sweden from January 1st, 2023, if you hand over the additional service "Advance Notice" to us.
